Charming cottage beside beautiful Portsalon Strand on Lough Swilly, County Donegal. Nestling in the crook of Knockalla hills, at the foot of the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road, this is a cottage dating from the 1800s, but completely modernized inside. It is surrounded by a lovely sheltered garden, with decks to the east and the west. Just a few minutes walk from the famous Portsalon beach, listed among Ireland's ten best beaches in 2021.

A plain at the mouth of Lough Swilly, the neighbourhood, Magherawarden, is a place of great natural beauty. Soft rolling hills, fields of cows and sheep, tree-lined lanes, wild flowers, create a special gentle landscape, on the edge of the wild ocean. Seabirds abound. Hares and rabbits gambol in the gardens. Across the lough are the mounains of Inishowen and Malin Head. People are warm and friendly.
