Fitness Levels
It is highly advisable that you have a minimum level of fitness to enjoy the up hill hiking on Mount Errigal and Sliabh Liag. All the other walks are mostly flat although some terrain may be wet or uneven. May not be suitable for children under the age of 8, participation for younger children is up to the discretion of the parents.
Equipment for hikes on Mount Errigal and Sliabh Liag
Although not essential good quality hiking boots and weather proof breathable clothing is highly recommended.
The hiking boots should be worn during weeks in advance during similar activity to make sure they are properly broken in.
The clothing should be tested to ensure a proper fit.
A beanie or woolly hat is recommended for the days you climb mountains as it can get extremely windy at the top.
A water bottle and high energy snacks should be carried during all activities but it is also important not to carry excess equipment.
A small back pack is always a good idea to carry bits and pieces especially your water, snacks and weather proof clothing.
Sack lunches and snacks are included on the day hikes.
